This isn’t by accident. the people who make the decisions that affect our lives claim that it’s all in our best interests, and that nothing – not even mother nature – should stand in the way of progress. the problems that are created by past changes become the excuse to advance further changes, and this is all defined as progress.. Why some people seem to engage in pleasurable, but self-destructive, behaviors when others do not is not so easily explained. but, at least, the behaviors, themselves, can be seen to be pleasurable.. If life favored immorality, destruction, all would be destroyed like a monster of destruction that devours everything until there is nothing left but to devour itself. — athena i don't see why immorality would favor self destruction..

This as with most of the topics covered in this section would never benefit the whole good and could only benefit the individual. for someone to maliciously withhold information that could and would in essence affect another's decision is immoral at its root, no matter the internal justification.. But, of course, adopting such an argument would equally well lead to the thought that the apparent destruction of the self is, in fact, nothing more than the destruction of the apparent self: the apparent destruction of the self is no such thing anyway.. There are also large gray areas, where society does not agree within itself, or societies disagree with each other. there, acts judged immoral from outside might be judged unexceptional or even laudable within. from this standpoint, it may simply not matter, unless the difference in opinion is so strong that one society uses force..

They refuse to be helped. along with isolating themselves from loved ones, self-destructive people fail to acknowledge they need help. they wouldn’t be caught dead in a therapist’s office, no matter how much they know deep down that they need it. this is due in part to the stigma attached to visiting a therapist,.... This isn’t how we think or behave with our closest friends and it explains why intimate gatherings in person are so different from what we see on social media..
