There is no cyl. head temp sensor. the head temperature # is an algorithm derived number. this algorithm is based partially on the et sensor, partially on the iat (intake air temperature) sensor, partially on the map (manifold air pressure) and some other factors which hd-delphi uses.. This was confirmed to me several years ago my the then service manager at my local dealership. when you drop off your bike for service unless you are fortunate enough to have a 'wait for it' appointment the bike's going to sit - probably for several hours if not overnight..
